AboutHouse of Honor

We built House of Honor to honor the people who protect our freedoms.
Jim Walters, founder

01Where it started

It started in the intake of a B-1B.

Before House of Honor was a company, it was a father watching his son fall in love with the machines that keep this country free.

  1. Edwards Air Force Base

    A ride on a C-130

At an air show, two airmen noticed a tall, quiet five-year-old standing by their C-130 and asked his dad if they could take him aboard. He came back down a different kid.

  2. Van Nuys

    A seat in the intake

Jim's brother was a career Air Force man, in charge of keeping the B-1B in the air. He showed up to the air show in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, and everyone in uniform saluted him. Then they lifted his nephew into the intake of the bomber.

  3. Years later

    A college application

Jim never knew how much that day mattered until he read his son's application essay.

"Ever since the day my dad put me in the intake of a B-1B bomber, I knew I was going to be a pilot."From his son's college application
  4. Every set of wings

    Pinned by his parents

His son became a military pilot. Jim and his wife were there for every graduation and every new set of wings, and once his commanding officer let them pin the wings on themselves. "I realized, man, he's not a little boy anymore."

02What we found

So he went looking for something worthy of it. There was nothing.

Badges. Medallions. Pewter one-offs. Bullets on a cord. T-shirts and bumper stickers. Nothing you'd be proud to give your mother, your wife or your son, and nothing that respected the people who actually ran the equipment.

What was out there

  • Pewter and plating
  • Generic branch emblems
  • Bullets and grim imagery
  • T-shirts and bumper stickers

What they deserve

  • Solid 925 sterling silver
  • The exact machine they served with
  • Honorable, never grim
  • Something to wear every day, and pass down

"Why does everybody else get something finer, and nobody recognizes them?"Jim Walters

03Who it's for

For the ones who served, and everyone behind them.

01

The ones who served

The pilots, crew chiefs, tankers, sailors and maintainers who ran the machines and kept them running.

02

The families who waited

The parents, spouses and kids who packed the care boxes, sat through every deployment and pinned on the wings.

03

Anyone who respects it

The machines are some of the finest engineering this country has ever built. Wearing one honors the people who built and flew them.

You don't have to have served to wear one. It honors them either way.

04How we make it

Honorable. Never a tchotchke.

  1. Solid sterling, made to be worn925 silver, not plated, not pewter. Built for every day, and to be handed down.
  2. The real machineEach piece starts from the actual aircraft, vehicle or vessel: its proportions, its panel lines, its silhouette.
  3. Respect over shock valueNo grim imagery and no politics. Just the machine and the people it stands for.
  4. Every order gives backA contribution from every order goes to an organization caring for those who served and their families. You choose which one.

05A note from Jim

I've loved this country since I was a kid chasing my friends with fireworks on the Fourth of July. I've run operations overseas, and I've seen how much of what we have here people never think about.

When my son went in, I saw what it takes. I spent a week and a half on a ship with three hundred young men and women working all day and taking classes at night. Every one of them was respectful and worked hard. I thought, how do I hire these kids?

To me, sacrifice is how you get to the next level. They make it every day. The least we can do is make them something worthy of it, something they're proud to wear that doesn't break the bank.

I built this for my son and my daughter, and for every family like ours.
